Morven Allen started Allen Farms from scratch more than 33 years ago two dairy cows and some rented land in the southern corner of the Berkshires. In 2018, son Ian joined the farm as a full partner after graduating from SUNY Cobleskill with a major in agricultural business.
Despite the challenges, from unpredictable weather to fluctuating milk prices, the Allen family team worked together, their bond strengthening with each hurdle they overcame.
Today, Morven and Ian have grown the operation to milking 550 cows and cropping more than 1600 acres of owned and leased land. They also raise all replacement Heifers and some steers on three satellite locations. Ian also does custom work for other farms in the area.
The Allens are excited to be hosting the MADF Annual Summer Picnic and look forward to showcasing & welcoming you to their family farm in beautiful Sheffield.
